Questions, answered

Is the medication compounded?+
No. We prescribe only FDA-approved GLP-1 medications — Wegovy, Zepbound, and their oral forms — dispensed by LillyDirect and NovoCare pharmacies. We never use compounded GLP-1s.
Why FDA-approved only?+
In 2026 the FDA took enforcement action against sellers of compounded GLP-1s. We built LighterMe on the medications with full FDA review behind them: consistent dosing, published safety data, and manufacturer accountability.
Do I need insurance?+
No. The program is self-pay and the medication is billed separately. No prior authorizations, no coverage denials.
How much does the medication cost?+
You pay the pharmacy directly at the manufacturer's self-pay price — currently from $149/month for the oral options (Wegovy pill, Foundayo) and from $299/month for Zepbound injections. Your clinician's prescription determines the exact price, and you'll see it before anything ships.
What if I get side effects?+
Message your care team in the app. Nausea and appetite changes are most common during dose increases — your clinician can adjust your titration pace.
What does founding member pricing mean?+
Our first 100 members pay $149/month, locked for 12 months — no increases, no surprises. After your founding period (or after the first 100, for anyone who joins later), the program is $199/month. We'll give you advance notice before that price step-up. Cancel anytime from your profile.
How do refills work?+
For the program, automatically — your clinician reviews your progress and your next supply ships on schedule. The medication itself is a separate relationship with the pharmacy: you manage its refills with LillyDirect or NovoCare directly.
Can I cancel?+
Yes, anytime from your profile. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
